I’ll be in touch with different set of articles,… how could it be like being a JIRA administrator. During last few months I had nothing special to blog. I don’t do politics, rarely gossip, and I’m a tech-blogger.

This shocked me, because, nowadays we don’t see these animals much around. When I was a kid, it was very common to see them running here and there. But today, a mongoose is a rare sight. I think they’re under extinction.

Although he has survived, I feel bad. May be the poor guy might die within a week. If things are going to happen like this again and again, I give up driving/riding.

So it’s USB. First I tried unetbootin but it seemed not installing the bootloader properly. Since I’m not familiar with GRUB2 it would’ve been extra workaround for me.

Fortunately there was a handy tool provided with Ubuntu itself. It’s usb-creator. A similar tool can be seen in Fedora too.

Anyway, it looks like unetbootin is no longer effective with later distros.

Early in the last month our home router seemed to be malfunctioning. We handed it over to claim the warranties, and till then no Internet… I almost felt like a woodcutter lost his ax. Today we got it back and now everything works very well!

But, during last three weeks,

• I missed few career opportunities.
• I was not able to talk to my friend overseas (to whom I help to do a telecommunication project).
• I was not able to visit my favorite social media sites.
• I was not able to continuously stay in touch with SBU.

And now… when reading and reading stuff that I’ve missed during past weeks,

Feel like I belong to history!

However, I’m back!

It was a virtual machine (VirtualBox) running Windows XP and on that Firefox seemed to be working faster and smootly than Chrome.

Especially when browsing sites that have rich Javascript content Chrome took longer to respond. Also it took longer to switch between tabs. Although switching appeared to happen immediately, it took time to render the page content even the page is completely loaded.

I’m very interested in exploring such stuff. May be couple of googlings will take me to the answer, but in the meantime I just blog it.

Vote Nenasala — Vote Sri Lanka!!

This is not due to a misconfiguration of DNS, but a technical failure of SLTnet.

By default, http://ghs.google.com:80 should provide a ‘Not Found’ page. But with SLTnet connections, you’ll see a browser error like, ‘Unable to Connect’. This is the issue.
I have already informed SLTnet about this issue and waiting for their reply, and I’m writing this small note for bloggers, by the meantime do not mess up your DNS configuration.
